Neurodes Farming Guide 2024 | Best Places To Farm Neurodes (2024)

Neurodes are an important resource in Warframe and it can be tricky for newbies to find them if they don’t know about resources or the star chart.

If you know a few useful tips and tricks, it can be straightforward to farm this important resource.

Read on and discover how to find and farm Neurodes.

What are Neurodes?

This resource is used to craft Forma, cosmetic helments, the latest Zephyr Prime Systems, Orokin Reactors, and more.

This component can be found on Earth, Eria, Lua, and Deimos.

They are also available from the marketplace for 10 Platinum. The permanent blueprint to craft them is 100 Platinum.

These are pretty much just newbie traps since you can farm your own Neurodes relatively easily even if you’re just roaming around and doing missions.

A Simple Strategy for Neurode Farming

If you are stuck, try this method to gather Neurodes.

Equip Nekros with a Despoil Augment mod and head to Earth for a Dark Sector excavation mission named Tikal.

Kill every enemy and open every container. This will take roughly 15 to 20 minutes in all and you should be able to get at least 4 Neurodes (sometimes you might get more, other times less).

After that you might like to head to Lua (as long as you’ve done the Second Dream quest). Head to Tycho or Plato and look for blue Occulysts which are blue and spawn Sentients.

With a squad you can easily kill those. You can also tackle them solo although it’s not as easy that way.

They tend to spawn about 6 times in 10 minutes. Get rid of all of them to get at least 2 Neurodes.

Remember to check the Orokin caches since they sometimes contain Neurodes.

Which Blueprints Do You Need Neurodes For?

There aren’t a lot of blueprints requiring Neurodes in Warframe, but you should keep them in your inventory since you need to use them to progress through the game and rank up:

  • Exodia Epidemic: 5 (+45)
  • Exodia Contagion: 5 (+45)
  • Amesha Wings: 5
  • Hind: 6
  • Chroma Chassis: 2
  • Hek: 5
  • Chroma Prime Neuroptics: 4
  • Mirage Prime Neuroptics: 5

Best Warframes & Weapons for Farming Neurodes

A good setup for neurode farming would be Desecrate Nekros, Tigris Prime, Slash pistol, and Atterax.

These are all slash weapons that work well with the Nekros Desecrate ability to drop twice as much loot at once.

Neuroptic Masses in the Plains of Eidolon and Earth drop Neurodes, as do Sentient Fighters in Lua.

Eris Survival and Defense can also be considered, and Orokin Derelict Survival gives an especially good chance of finding Neurodes.

Where To Farm Neurodes? Best Places & Missions

Locations:

  • Magnacidium (Deimos)
  • E-Prime (Earth)
  • Mariana (Earth)
  • Zabala (Eris)
  • Plato (Lua)
  • Apollo (Lua)
  • Tycho (Lua)

The most efficient way of farming Neurodes is Plato (Lua) which guarantees Sentients spawning in a few minutes.

Sentients can be hard to deal with so consider bringing a few friends.

The Lephantis assassin node on Deimos is easy enough to do and you can get a Neurode or two on each run.

If you’re a newer Warframe player, consider Earth search missions for Neuroptic Masses.

This is the name of the Neurodes resource container. Enemies don’t tend to drop many Neurodes here so it’s better to focus on locating the containers to get them.

Sentient fighters often drop Neurodes (after you complete the Second Dream quest).

You won’t get many Neurodes from Eris defense and survival missions, even Dark Sector ones – only about one in 20 minutes.

Orokin Derelict Assassinate

First off, this is not a beginner-friendly method because it’s more of an endgame mission and needs a Boss fight.

If that isn’t an issue for you, then this derelict mission offers a good change of Neurodes.

The multiple-headed Boss can drop a Neurode from each head so you might get 3 or 4 Neurodes per run.

You do need Derelict Assassination keys for this mission which are crafted with Lephantis Nav coordinates you get from other Derelict missions.

Tycho Survival Mission

This is a simpler alternative to Orokin Derelict Assassinate.

The Oculysts spawn every minute or two and call Conculysts and Battalysts upon scanning.

These will increase the longer you spend on the mission. When you kill one of these there’s a good chance you will get a Neurode.

Occulysts and Sentients are tricky to kill and can build immunity against the damage type you have.

That’s why it is best to vary your builds and opt for a tank-type frame.

So if you spend about 20 minutes on the Tycho Survival Mission, you should get around 10 Neurodes, or more if you’re using a resource booster.

Tips to Farm Neurodes

Although beginners do need Neurodes early on in the game, they might not have access to Orokin or Derelict.

If this sounds like you, it’s easiest to go to Earth and just look around for Neuroptic Masses, using AOE damage-dealing frames like Ember which can break the Masses open.

After that, your companion is able to pick up the Neurodes. Because enemies don’t drop the resource much on Earth, it’s a better use of your time to open containers and find Masses.

You can use Orokin Derelict Defense and Survival to farm Neurodes but having tried these, many players can’t say they are especially efficient compared to other methods.

For Orokin Derelict Defense you need a squad and you only get one Neurode after 30 waves or maybe 3 of them using a Nekros.

This is a difficult mission. Similar is true of Eris Survival and Defense, in that running Infested tileset missions don’t yield many Neurodes.

They don’t even drop in every mission so you might leave empty-handed.

Conclusion

Hopefully the above strategies, tips and tricks will be useful in your quest to collect Neurodes.

There are various methods to gather this handy resource, and it’s easier if you have a squad with you or at least a friend or two.

As with anything, collecting this Warframe resource gets easier the more experience and practice you have.

You are sure to find your own preferred Neurode farming method in a very short time.
