The website has yet to update, so enjoy the Longsword video on its own!

Monster Hunter Wilds: Long Sword | Weapon Overview

⚔️ Long Sword ⚔️

For those who have studied the blade. Embrace the flow of the hunt and counter attacks in the blink of an eye. Charge your Spirit Gauge to empower your attacks.

With Focus Mode, slice with absolute precision and seal the monster's fate.

A lot less focus on counters, and more so additional combos and attacks on base attack strings and Spirit Slash attacks!

That new AED follow-up round slash is actually quite nice, as it places an emphasis on spending more time with the Axe mode on, especially if Savage Axe returns in full. I actually like that most of the fundamentals for the CB remain intact and haven't changed too much.

Remember to put this in spoiler tags if there's too many new videos!

Anyways, like the Longsword video, this one's more subdued for folks who aren't experienced with the weapon.

But what we got is pretty nice!

Savage Axe Mode returning is pretty cool, and being able to do it directly from the morphing guard-point instead of cancelling a SAED is good to have. Also, confirmation that the white flash and impact sound effect from the Gunlance video does indeed indicate a guard-point that you can trigger a move from!

Being able to followup from an AED is great, as that move had so much endlag before. It's a nice horizontal swing overall, which means AEDs can enter Savage Axe Mode rotations on a downed Monster without needing to be the finisher!

And the Focus Strike using Savage Axe Mode is basically just Ripper Shield from MHGU!

And to top off the hype, we have a brand new DAMAGE UNCAPPED Monster-vs-Monster fight in Sunbreak, courtesy of THE main channel of these fights and fledgling custom animator, Monster Slayer Squad!

This time around, we head to the 5th generation rendition of the Jungle to see an underground arena matchup between 2 of the strongest Elder Dragon-level Monsters in the entire game!

With damage numbers this big, who's gonna win between Lucent Nargacuga and Scorned Magnamalo?

Monster Hunter Wilds Turf Wars will go HARD! Lucent Nargacuga Vs Scorned Magnamalo

The spirit of the Samurai challenges the spirit of the jungle; who will be victorious.

MH Wilds Turf Wars could be this but better; what turf wars do you guys want to see in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Lucent Nargacuga Vs Scorned Magnamalo Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak!

Note:
- Both monsters have their damage values UNCAPPED.
- Following monsters have had their HP from there single player quests.
- All other stats are all based on default values provided by Capcom
- We also take no responsibility for any unusual A.I behaviour, as these are variables we cannot adjust.
- These fights are not to be taken seriously and are not based on Monster Hunter Lore, I simply make them for people to watch and enjoy.

The weapon indicate the possibility of a new spider monster.

Yeah, while the armor resembles Rakna it's got enough differences it's probably a new spider.

Hunting Horn looks nice. It plays songs like in World, but has ways to make the song-playing deal damage, increasing its uptime.

Alrighty, the next weapon preview is up! This time, it's MY main, the Hammer!

Monster Hunter Wilds: Hammer | Weapon Overview

⚔️ Hammer ⚔️

Charge up your hammer and go for the head in Monster Hunter Wilds! Close the gap and dodge attacks by using the slinger to never give monsters room to breathe.

Bonk with precision and stay centered on the monster's head with Focus Mode and stagger it with a Focus Strike!

Like the Longsword and Charge Blade, this one is a lot more subdued in showing off new stuff. The big one for experienced Hammer players is the ability to use the Hook Slinger to replicate the effects of Keeping Sway from MH Rise Sunbreak.

Nice to see keeping sway was carried over. It was one of my go-to silkbinds for courage hammer. Speaking of I hope courage mode is still a thing.

What the f*ck, that hammer has a brain in it.

Switch skills coming along to Wilds would have my support, simply because there are too many moves that we want, and not enough buttons to activate them all under one moveset.

It's always so hard trying to choose a weapon to use for a new Monster Hunter game and this new Wounding mechanic seems really neat. Right now, the combination of that and the recent video has me leaning towards Hammer (the one revealed is a riot, you can brain a monster with a brain-in-a-jar) but I'm gonna wait to see the Lance video.

Happy to see that the weapons seem diverse. Part of the joy of Monster Hunter is seeing what mishmash of a weapon you get from each monster and, at least in my opinion, that was one of the few failings of World.

I've got a good feeling for Lance with the mechanics of the changes thus far. Keeping the Claw counter seems likely and the wound mechanics is up the Lance's alley in general, though having precise poke aim could be finicky. Depends granted if Focus is directly needed to handle wounds or just a crutch, hard to say yet. Plus they might let focus more precisely allow for charge fine turning.

Got around to looking at the CB video, I hope that savage axe isn't limited to focus mode. And while the new moves they showed off look neat, they are also going to be useless in Master rank aside from styling on a monster that's already downed. No way in hell are you getting an opening for an AED into a SAED on anything else.

These weapon showcase vids are good for speculating on what kinds of new monsters we're getting. The charge blade seems to come from a new spider monster possibly and just imagine the monster that gives us this brain in a jar hammer lol.

I imagine the brain hammer is from a thunder monster. The armor, presumably from the same monster, reminds me of the girros armor. Texture is obviously different, but I'm thinking it's going to be a new fanged wyvern related to the girros, like how chatacabra seems like a cousin to tetsucabra. Obviously, I could be very off the mark, but that's my guess purely off the armor aesthetics.

I'm looking forward to the new Longsword. I used to use it as a secondary pre-World, but the modern moveset really threw me off. Might try it again if SnS doesn't get anything fun added.

It looks like the hunter is sidestrafing with an SS2 at around 0:24. Going to be interesting if you can more freely reposition during combos to keep up the pressure. Would be nice if they're also adding some new attack options for SSC along with the ones for displacement purposes.

Does anyone else feel like the sidestep attacks are more sluggish and short-ranged in these vids when compared to existing ones? Am I just remembering wrong?

Alright, time for LBG's weapon video!

Monster Hunter Wilds: Light Bowgun | Weapon Overview

🎯 Light Bowgun 🎯

Let loose with the highly mobile and versatile Light Bowgun. Successfully land hits to build Rapid Fire energy, then unleash multiple shots in quick succession!

Aim for the monster's weak points and launch an explosive mine for booming damage!

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laJFEKB0gMA

You know how I know that Normal Ammo is just 3-round burst by default? Because not only is it the only ammo type fired this way across both HBG and LBG, but it also shoots as ridiculously quick bursts when fired in Rapid Fire.

Also, Rapid Fire for almost all ammo types with the Rapid Fire gauge!

Nothing really changed for Lightbow gun as far as I can tell maybe slightly fast firing from World

The big change is that the Rapid Fire gauge will presumably let you use Rapid Fire with almost all standard ammo types.

We briefly see it used with the Spread Ammo later in the video, where before Spread Ammo only fired in single-shots earlier in the video. And Normal Ammo's ordinarily slower 3-round bursts became super rapid battle rifle bursts when using Rapid Fire.

I don't want to jump to any conclusions but after seeing Balahara in action...

Yeah that's the Lagiacrus/Agnaktor rig.
