Job DescriptionMiami Regional University has openings for full time Bursar Clerk. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, confidentiality and maintenance of student financial records in compliance with all state, accrediting and federal regulations, and should be able to respond to all inquiries expected in an audit or accreditation visit. The Bursar Clerk assists in managing student financial accounts to include tuition, billing, revenue recognition, bank deposits, cash receipts and student refunds to ledger. This position manages aged receivables of active and inactive students to include regular collections and analysis of past due receivables and collections. The individual also periodically reviews student records to ensure files contain current and accurate student data, assists in purchasing campus supplies, to include textbooks, student and other local purchases necessary for the operation of the University.
All duties must be conducted in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the University; serving as a positive professional role model for guests, students, faculty and staff in the areas of customer service, respect, communication, collaboration and excellence. Responsibilities:
Ensures duties and responsibilities are aligned with Miami Regional University (MRU) Mission and Vision.
Assure full compliance with regulation and requirements of institution’s accrediting bodies, USDOE, federal and local agencies.
Process and post incoming cash, credit card and check payments to student accounts
Reconciled payment collected from students vs. Campus Bank Report and actual cash, checks, and credit card payment on hand from all drawers daily.
Responsible to mail all correspondence from the Bursar Department.
Back up Auto pay as needed.
Back up for payment plan as needed
Skills & Qualifications:
At least three years of significant office administration work experience, maintaining business or accounting records
An AS or BS degree in administrative or accounting area may substitute for work experience
Strong computer skills in the area of data management and word processing
Excellent grammar
Strong time management skills
Ability to work in a fast paced and stressful environment handling many responsibilities at once
