The first thing you need to do is find your router’s IP address. You can do this by searching for it on Google. Or look at the sticker on the bottom of your router. The next step is to log into your router’s settings. It will vary depending on what type of router you have, but generally, there is a URL that looks something like 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0

I’m sure you’ve heard the term “port forwarding” before, and you may even have a vague understanding of what it does. But what are ports, anyway? How do they work? And why would I need one to play League of Legends? Read on for answers to all these questions!

Opening a port for League of Legends is a relatively simple process, but there are many different things that you can do to open your router’s ports.
Below, we’ve outlined two popular methods to help you get started.
Open the Port for a Specific Application: This method requires you to select which application you want to open the Port for and then enter its corresponding port number. It is done by accessing your router’s settings through its web interface and entering this information at the bottom of each page (look for “Application / Port Forwards” or similar).
Open The Port For A Specific IP Address: You can also opt for this option if you know what IP address your friend will use when connecting from outside their home network (e.g., if they’re coming over). Enter their home IP address into an input field in your router’s settings page (again located under “Application / Port Forwards”).
Log into your router.

Mac computers: Press Command+Spacebar then start typing Terminal in Spotlight Search; select Terminal from the list when done typing; enter netstat -nr | grep -I udp at prompt and press Return key/Enter button once done; look for default gateway under eth0 after results appear–this is what we will use later when connecting to our Network via a command-line interface (CLI).
Now that you’ve identified your router, you can log into it—the default username and password on a sticker on the bottom of your router. If you don’t have this information, try resetting it (more below). If that doesn’t work, try looking up your wireless Network’s IP address to get more information about which device is on.

Find your IP address.
The easiest way to do this is with a tool called an IP scanner. You should be able to find one online and download it, but many different apps can do the same thing on your phone. Finding your IP address may differ depending on which app you use and how you set it up, but the basic idea is to start the app and watch as it scans through all the devices connected to your network. Afterward, it will tell you each device’s unique IP address—and hopefully yours too! If not, try rebooting or restarting everything again (see section 2).
If no scanner works for some reason, another option would be installing software like Wireshark on your computer (or any other device) and looking up it’s MAC/IP addresses under Network> Interfaces > Wireless Adapter (or Ethernet Adapter).
You must first find your IP address. It is a unique number that identifies you on the internet. You can do this with an IP scanner or by using the command prompt in Windows:
Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog, then type cmd into it to open a command prompt window, or go straight to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
Enter ipconfig /all at the prompt, and press Enter on your keyboard. Look for Default Gateway in that list; it’s probably something like 192.168.0.* por 192.*.*.* (although it could be something else entirely). If there’s no Default Gateway listed under “Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection,” try checking all other Ethernet adapters too!
Now write down this number and put * after it, so it looks like this: 192*.*.**. Then go back to one folder by hitting Up Arrow until you see C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME HERE\Documents\League of Legends\RADS\systems\. Right-click “systems” and select Rename from the context menu that appears; rename “systems” to systems_old.
Find your router’s web interface.
Now that you know your IP address, it’s time to find your router’s web interface. The easiest way to do this is to use Google. In the search bar on any modern browser, type “www.routerlogin.net” and press enter.
It will present you with several pages designed to help you find the correct login page for your router. Look through them carefully until you find one that matches yours (or as close as possible). Once you have found it, bookmark or write down the URL so you can access it easily when needed!
Now that you have the IP address, find your router’s web interface. It is a simple but essential step: many routers have their method for accessing different parts of the Network and its settings. You can access your router’s web interface in several ways, but here are some standard methods:
By searching for it in your browser (e.g., “192.168.1.1” or “192.168.*.*”). If you’re using Google Chrome, this will also take you straight to any search results for that URL!
Suppose there’s an option to do so within your browser settings (e.g., under ‘Advanced Settings’ -> ‘Network’). Use those instead of opening a new tab or window on top of all other windows open on the screen when doing things like changing DNS servers or Mac Address filtering requirements.
Open the ports/Applications tab.
You’ll need to find the port settings in your router’s web interface to open your router’s ports. In most cases, this means using a browser and entering the IP address of your router (typically 192.168.1 or 192.168.0) into the address bar before being prompted for your login credentials (usually admin/admin). Once logged in, you should see a page similar to this:

Set the Port target and type to League of Legends
In this section, you will set the port target and type to League of Legends.
You can set the Port to any number you want.
- The default value is 7757.
- You might want to change it if:
- Your computer has been compromised by viruses or other malicious software (malware). In this case, your computer may be sending out information that could help others access your device through a specific port number. Changing the default setting will make it more difficult for these unauthorized users to access your system.
- Someone else is using your internet connection at home and has changed their default setting for a similar reason. To avoid being detected by hackers or other unauthorized users trying to get into their Network using the same IP address as them (but on different ports). If this happens often enough, it might mean there’s no need for us to change our settings because we can wait until they change theirs back again!
Save changes and restart your router.
Now that you’ve opened the Port, you should restart your router. It is a good idea when making any changes to your router configuration.
Open League of Legends and test whether it works!
You can now close the browser and restart your router to ensure the changes stick. Check if you have internet access after this, as it might take a few minutes for your router to refresh. If you do not have access to your router, feel free to skip this step!
If everything worked out as planned, you should now be able to play League of Legends on your Mac while connected via Wifi or Ethernet cable!
